George "Doc" Rivers is an American basketball coach and former player who was born on October 1book_IZ8.pdf>13, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois. He is currently the head coach of the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA. Rivers is a 21-year coaching veteran, having served as head coach of the Chicago Bulls and Wizards, Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Clippers, and San Antonio Spurs.
